What is time travel?
Time travel is the concept of moving between different points in time — like traveling to the past or future — similar to how we move through space. It’s a popular idea in science fiction, with stories about people visiting ancient civilizations or witnessing future events.
Scientifically, time travel is more complicated. According to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, time is connected to space, forming spacetime. The faster you travel — especially near the speed of light — the slower time passes for you compared to someone at rest. This is called time dilation, and astronauts on the International Space Station experience a tiny bit of this.
Traveling to the past is more speculative. Theories involve wormholes (shortcuts through spacetime) or closed timelike curves (loops in time), but there’s no experimental proof yet.
